Below we shine a light on some of our most frequently asked questions…
General SOLD.CO.UK FAQs
We’re an online estate agency with a difference. We market all of our properties at a realistic price and work with a large network of pre-qualified property buyers in order to get you a fast sale. Our average sale period is just 25 days.
At SOLD.CO.UK, we put our money where our mouth is. We only make money if we find a buyer who pays more than your agreed price. This means we work far harder than your average estate agent to find motivated buyers and achieve a fast house sale.
The SOLD.CO.UK offices are based in central London. However, we are a national agency and have representatives across the country. You can secure an online house valuation wherever you live in the UK.
We have reliable representatives across the country who will facilitate a key handover upon completion.
There is absolutely no cost for using SOLD.CO.UK to sell your property. We don’t charge a fixed fee – either when you list your property or after the purchase completes – and we don’t take any commission from the sale. Instead, we only make money if we find a buyer who pays more than the agreed asking price. We also cover your legal costs. You can find out ‘how much is my house worth?’ online today.
There are many benefits to using our service, rather than that of a traditional estate agent or any other online estate agency. The key benefits are:
- There are no fees involved – the price we agree on is the price you receive.
- We’re able to sell your house fast – our average sale period is just 25 days.
- We cover all your legal costs.
- We also advertise your property online on RightMove and Zoopla, to ensure it reaches the widest possible audience

I’m a seller
No, this is not automatic. If you don’t want us to continue marketing after the 30-day period, all you need to do is serve us notice on day 21 of the 30-day marketing period. As we are in regular communication with you throughout the sale, it is very unlikely that you will miss this date. However, if you should forget to serve notice, all we do is roll out our service for another 30 days. There is no penalty to worry about and, as always, we will sell your house for free and cover your legal costs.
If you want to accept an offer lower than the agreed marketing price, we will work with you and the buyer to come to an agreement that suits all parties.
Yes, we have a network of over 20,000 investors that we will market your property to. But we don’t just limit our marketing to investors. We have a vast range of buyers including home buyers and homeowners looking to purchase an additional residence, all of whom are motivated and pre-qualified. In addition to this, we also market the property on all the major portals, including Rightmove and Zoopla. We don’t limit exposure – we get your property out to everyone and sell your house online in a timeframe that suits you.
We achieve a buyer within 30 days. Completion happens as soon as possible thereafter. Whilst we can (and have) completed on properties within the 30 days, each sale is dependent on the time requirements of the buyer and seller. Regardless, our carefully cultivated network of solicitors and mortgage brokers are on hand to streamline the process and tie up your sale, whether you want to sell your house fast or do not have any time constraints.
Yes. We can manage your buyer’s expectations from the outset to cater to your timeframe.
We pre-qualify every buyer to ensure they are proceedable and have the motivation to purchase prior to viewing. Therefore, you can rest assured that you are only dealing with vetted buyers who are ready to purchase.
Your 30 days starts as soon as the property is live on our website and the property portals we use. Don’t worry, we will let you know when this happens. Prior to this, we will have already started matching your property to the needs of the investors and other parties we have in our database.
The incumbent property owner is required to provide any purchaser with a leasehold management pack and will be required to cover the cost of this.
No, we don’t charge any fees. If you don’t sell, for whatever reason, you won’t part with a penny. We can sell your house for free and you will never be faced with hidden costs. Services with SOLD.CO.UK are completely free.
Yes, you will have a dedicated sales progression expert who will be on hand to manage the process and get your sale to completion.
This depends on the time requirements of both the buyer and the seller. Our service is specifically designed to streamline this process. We provide a dedicated sales progressor, as well as a network of proactive solicitors and mortgage brokers, in order to reach completion as soon as possible.
No, we cover all the marketing costs of the property, including photography and floorplans. You will never have to pay a penny when selling with SOLD.CO.UK.
We can take on properties that require an EWS1 form, however we will need to take this into account when pricing the property. Our property analysts are experts in valuations with a great deal of experience assessing flats with EWS1 queries and can advise you on your best options. Value my house now.
We are different from an estate agent in many ways:
Speed – The average estate agent takes 6-9 months to find a buyer. Our average is just 25 days!
Cost – We are a completely fee-free service. We only make money if we beat the asking price, making us far more proactive than your regular estate agent.
Versatility – We offer a variety of routes to sale, each specially designed to suit the needs of the seller.
Convenience – We deliver a fully managed property sale and operate the majority of our service online.
We operate online and via the telephone, meaning we don’t shut up shop when other agents do. As well as keeping our customers in the loop and helping them achieve a sale, there are no hidden fees with SOLD.CO.UK. You can sell your property for free with us.
We currently have more than 20,000 pre-qualified, motivated buyers in our network.
Should the property not sell within 30 days, you can either choose to continue with our service for another month or you can walk away from the service, completely fee-free.
Yes, we are happy to take on properties with current tenants. In fact, many of our investors are eager to purchase properties with tenants already in situ.
We offer different routes to sale to suit each seller. We have some processes which guarantee a property sale and others that don’t, which suit homeowners that require flexibility or aren’t up against a time constraint to sell. Whatever you want to achieve, SOLD.CO.UK will be able to advise you on the best route to sale for your circumstances.
We do ask for exclusivity for the 30 days whilst we market your property. If you are using an online listing company, you should have the option to pause their service. This means you shouldn’t incur a cancellation fee while you let us handle the sale of your home.
As a proactive agent, we spend considerable funds on marketing your property and finding a buyer. This includes all marketing materials and outreach. Therefore, we ask that you don’t use another estate agent whilst we do this.
I’m a buyer
Yes, we can host virtual viewings for a property, and we also provide a video tour for every property we list. You can also visit in person. We are able to offer viewings that suit our customers best. We can also offer you an online house valuation to make things even easier.
We are required by law to ensure we have full transparency on who our buyers are. As part of our legal due diligence, we ask for all offers to be provided in writing.
If you rely on a property sale in order to fund your purchase, your property must be under offer and proceedable in order to view one of our listings. We do this to protect the interest of our sellers, to mitigate against the risk of disappointment.
“Offers in excess of” simply means that the seller will only consider offers above the amount stated. This is to guide you to the level that a seller will review seriously.
No. There are no additional costs on top of the agreed price you purchase the property at.
